Cette superbe micro-association provenant du gisement de Narcao présente une smithsonite d’une grande délicatesse esthétique, développée en cristaux botryoïdaux et subtabulaires, d’un jaune citron pâle à translucide, à éclat soyeux et satiné.
Les cristaux montrent une morphologie en lames épaissies, légèrement arquées, avec une texture finement grenue à la surface, typique des croissances carbonatées secondaires en milieu oxydant riche en zinc. Leur transparence partielle laisse filtrer une lumière douce, révélant une structure interne fibreuse à micro-lamellaire, caractéristique des smithsonites de haute qualité de Narcao.
 
This outstanding micro-specimen from the Narcao mining district features a high-quality smithsonite crystallization displaying elegant botryoidal to subtabular forms, with a pale lemon-yellow, translucent coloration and a soft silky to satiny luster.
The crystals develop as gently curved, thickened blades with finely granular surfaces, typical of secondary zinc carbonates formed in the supergene oxidation zone. Their partial transparency allows light to penetrate the crystal mass, revealing a subtle internal fibrous to micro-lamellar structure, a diagnostic feature of well-crystallized smithsonite from this classic Sardinian locality.
