Spécimen rare et particulièrement intéressant d’ottensite provenant du célèbre district minier de Qinglong, en Chine. Le minéral forme ici une agrégation dense et complexe de cristallisations rouge orangé à rouge brique, couvrant presque entièrement la surface de la pièce.
L’ottensite se présente sous plusieurs habitudes remarquables : amas botryoïdaux composés de petites sphérules serrées, excroissances mamelonnées brillantes, ainsi que cristaux allongés et lamellaires partiellement recouverts de microcristallisations secondaires. Cette diversité morphologique confère à l’échantillon un relief très riche et une texture particulièrement spectaculaire.
 
A rare and particularly interesting specimen of ottensite from the famous Qinglong mining district, China. The mineral forms a dense and complex aggregate of orange-red to brick-red crystallizations, almost entirely covering the specimen surface.
Ottensite displays several remarkable habits here: botryoidal clusters made of tightly packed tiny spheres, lustrous mammillary overgrowths, and elongated lamellar crystals partly coated by secondary microcrystallizations. This morphological diversity gives the specimen strong relief and a highly spectacular texture.
