La pièce présente un superbe contraste entre la dolomite blanche et translucide, qui constitue la matrice, et les cristaux gris-noir à éclat métallique de dufrénoysite. Les cristaux, nettement allongés et fortement striés, se regroupent en faisceaux et en agrégats particulièrement esthétiques, avec plusieurs individus bien dégagés sur la dolomite.
La dufrénoysite est un sulfosel de plomb et d'arsenic, de formule Pb₂As₂S₅, appartenant au système monoclinique. Très rare, elle est particulièrement recherchée lorsqu'elle présente des cristaux bien formés, et les spécimens de Lengenbach constituent parmi les plus classiques et les plus intéressants pour les collectionneurs de microminéraux
 
The specimen displays a striking contrast between the white to translucent dolomite matrix and the dark grey to black, metallic dufrenoysite crystals. The crystals are distinctly elongated and strongly striated, forming attractive bundles and aggregates, with several well-developed individuals standing out clearly against the pale dolomite.
Dufrenoysite is a rare lead arsenic sulfosalt, with the formula Pb₂As₂S₅, crystallizing in the monoclinic system. It is particularly prized by micromineral collectors when it occurs as well-formed, lustrous crystals, and material from Lengenbach is among the most classic and sought-after occurrences of the species.
