Dioptase Wulfenite Fornacite | Mindouli, Congo - Micromount
Fine dioptase and wulfenite association from the N’Tola Mine, Mindouli District, Republic of Congo.
Dioptase dominates the specimen, forming abundant emerald-green, highly lustrous trigonal-prismatic crystals arranged in dense clusters and aggregates. Several crystals display well-developed, strongly reflective faces, while the thinner portions show attractive transparency. This type of intensely lustrous green dioptase is characteristic of specimens from the 2018–2019 finds at N’Tola.
The contrasting yellow to orange-yellow wulfenite occurs as distinct tabular crystals associated with the dioptase aggregates. This association is well documented from N’Tola and is one of the notable features of these specimens, with the combination of vivid green dioptase and yellow wulfenite being particularly attractive and uncommon.
