Cuprite provenant du célèbre gisement de Libiola, montrant une association dense de cristaux cubiques bien formés, de couleur rouge rubis à rouge sombre, localement très brillants. Les cristaux sont intimement mêlés à un réseau remarquable de fines aiguilles métalliques de cuivre natif, créant un contraste visuel et cristallographique particulièrement esthétique.
La cuprite présente ici un excellent éclat adamantin à submétallique, avec des arêtes nettes et une bonne lisibilité cristalline sous fort grossissement. Ce type de cristallisation est typique de la zone d’oxydation des gisements cuprifères de Libiola, connue pour ses associations minérales complexes et spectaculaires à l’échelle micrométrique.
 
Micromount specimen of cuprite from the renowned Libiola deposit, featuring a dense aggregation of well-developed cubic crystals displaying a deep ruby-red to dark red coloration. The cuprite crystals are intricately intergrown with an exceptional network of very fine native copper needles, providing a striking textural and chromatic contrast.
The cuprite shows a strong adamantine to submetallic luster, with sharp crystal edges and excellent definition under high magnification. Such crystallizations are characteristic of the oxidation zone of the Libiola copper deposits, famous for producing complex and highly aesthetic micromineral associations.
