Micromount exceptionnel de perroudite, minéral extrêmement rare et localité type, provenant du célèbre gisement de Cap Garonne, Le Pradet, Var, France. La perroudite se présente en fins cristaux aciculaires rouge vif à rouge carmin, disposés en gerbes rayonnantes très esthétiques, parfaitement contrastées sur une matrice de quartz blanc translucide.
Les cristaux, d’un éclat vitreux à soyeux, sont bien individualisés, délicats mais nets, avec une excellente lisibilité morphologique malgré leur très petite taille. La gangue siliceuse, localement imprégnée d’oxydes brun-jaune, met en valeur l’intensité chromatique des aiguilles rouges.
Spécimen de tout premier ordre pour collection microminéralogique spécialisée, alliant rareté scientifique (minéral de référence mondiale) et fort impact visuel en macrophotographie.
 
Exceptional micromount featuring vivid red acicular crystals of Perroudite, the rare silver–mercury sulfosalt, on a matrix of milky to translucent quartz from the famous Cap Garonne mine (Le Pradet, Var, France), the type locality of the species.
The perroudite occurs as a striking radiating spray of needle-like to prismatic crystals, intensely crimson to ruby-red in colour, with a bright vitreous to adamantine lustre. The crystals are sharply terminated and well isolated, forming a starburst-like aggregate that stands out vividly against the pale quartz matrix.
The surrounding gangue shows drusy quartz with yellowish to brown iron-oxide staining and scattered micro-sulfide grains, adding depth and texture while enhancing the chromatic contrast with the red perroudite.
A highly aesthetic and scientifically important specimen, combining rarity, type-locality interest, and outstanding microcrystal development, ideal for advanced micromineral collections and high-level macro photography.
