Spécimen microminéralogique remarquable de bromargyrite, halogénure d’argent rare, provenant du secteur historique de Huelgoat, en Bretagne.
Le cristal principal, bien individualisé, présente un fort éclat adamantin à submétallique, avec une teinte gris argenté légèrement jaunâtre, typique des halogénures d’argent riches en brome.
La bromargyrite est enchâssée dans une gangue fortement oxydée dominée par des oxydes et hydroxydes de fer aux teintes orange à brun intense, conférant un contraste visuel particulièrement esthétique et mettant en valeur le cristal central.
La morphologie cristalline, bien que partiellement contrainte par la cavité, reste lisible et témoigne d’une cristallisation tardive en zone d’oxydation, issue de l’altération des minéralisations argentifères primaires.
 
Fine micromineral specimen of bromargyrite, a rare silver halide, from the historic mining area of Huelgoat, Brittany, France.
The main crystal is well isolated and displays a strong adamantine to submetallic luster, with a silvery-grey coloration showing slight yellowish hues, characteristic of bromine-rich silver halides.
The bromargyrite crystal is set on a strongly oxidized matrix, composed mainly of iron oxides and hydroxides with intense orange to brown colors, creating a striking visual contrast that enhances the crystal’s presence.
Despite partial confinement within the cavity, the crystal habit remains discernible, indicating late-stage crystallization within the oxidation zone, resulting from the alteration of primary silver-bearing mineralization.
