Spécimen d’ambre birman du Crétacé moyen provenant de la vallée de Hukawng (Kachin, Myanmar), daté d’environ 99 millions d’années, présentant une matrice jaune miel lumineuse avec une bonne translucidité. Cette pièce renferme un hyménoptère probablement apparenté à une fourmi primitive ou à une petite guêpe, conservé avec une belle visibilité générale malgré une fossilisation partielle. L’inclusion montre un corps nettement segmenté avec tête sombre bien distincte, thorax développé, abdomen ovoïde translucide et longues antennes fines encore visibles. Les pattes et certaines structures du thorax demeurent observables, tandis que les ailes semblent partiellement repliées ou peu visibles dans la résine. La coloration ambrée de l’insecte crée un contraste esthétique avec la matrice claire, renforçant l’intérêt visuel du spécimen. Quelques voiles internes et microstructures naturelles liés au processus de résinification sont présents sans nuire à l’identification. A specimen of Mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber from the Hukawng Valley (Kachin State, Myanmar), dating to approximately 99 million years ago, displaying a bright honey-yellow matrix with good translucency. This piece contains a hymenopteran inclusion, likely related to a primitive ant or small wasp, preserved with good overall visibility despite partial fossilization. The inclusion exhibits a distinctly segmented body with a dark, well-defined head, developed thorax, translucent oval abdomen, and long slender antennae still clearly visible. The legs and portions of the thoracic structures remain observable, while the wings appear partially folded or obscured within the resin.
