Cette allanite de la célèbre carrière de Trimouns, Ariège, France, présente un superbe cristal prismatique isolé, parfaitement mis en valeur sur une matrice de feldspaths et de quartz blancs.
Le cristal, allongé et remarquablement bien terminé, affiche les caractéristiques classiques de l'espèce : une couleur brun très sombre à noir, une transparence limitée et un éclat résineux à submétallique. Ses faces, nettes et finement striées, témoignent d'une cristallisation de grande qualité
 
This allanite from the famous Trimouns quarry, Ariège, France, features a superb isolated prismatic crystal beautifully displayed on a contrasting matrix of white feldspar and quartz.
The elongated crystal is remarkably well terminated and exhibits the classic characteristics of the species: a very dark brown to nearly black color, limited transparency, and a resinous to submetallic luster. Its sharp, finely striated faces reflect excellent crystal development
